Obtain your passport easily
Apply for a passport at a participating Nedbank branch
Go to the e-Home Affairs website at https://ehome.dha.gov.za/ehomeaffairsv3 to register your profile, or log in with an existing profile and follow the steps below:
- Create or continue an existing application.
- Complete the online form.
- Upload the necessary documents.
- Pay online with Nedbank.
To pay online, you must have your profile number, which you can find by logging in to the Private Wealth app or Online Banking.
On the Private Wealth app, you will find the option at the top of the screen under More.
When using Online Banking, click on your initials at the top right-hand side of the screen. You will be asked to enter a bank user ID. For Nedbank, it is '1'.
To release the payment, log in to the Private Wealth app or Online Banking, go to Pay, select Government payments, and select the payment you want to complete. The amount and reference details will be prepopulated.
- Choose a date and a participating Nedbank branch for your physical appointment.
You must physically go to the selected Nedbank branch on this date to capture your biometrics. Bring your booking confirmation and ID with you. Your fingerprints will be scanned and a photo will be taken.
The requirements are different for children under 18. Please consult the Department of Home Affairs' website for more information.
- Once your passport is ready, you will receive an SMS, and you can collect it from the branch you chose.

Setting cards for international use
Notify us of your travel dates to ensure your international transactions are not blocked. Use the Private Wealth app or Online Banking, select Cards from the menu and select Use card overseas for the card(s) you want to use while travelling.
Order foreign bank notes
Order foreign banknotes on the Nedbank Private Wealth app or Online Banking. Order up to 60 days before your trip and choose delivery to major metros.

Local airport lounge access
When you fly locally or depart from South Africa, you can get unlimited access to Bidvest Premier airport lounges for you and a guest with Dragonpass on the Visa Airport Companion app. Follow these steps to enjoy airport lounge access:
- Download the Visa Airport Companion app from your app store. Register your Private Wealth Visa Infinite Credit or Cheque Card details and get immediate access.
- Use the app to check which lounge is available at the airport you are travelling through and where it is located.
- To access the lounge, log in to the app, generate a QR code and present it at reception. You do not need wifi to log in to the app or generate a QR code.
Additional lounges at international terminals.
In addition to Bidvest Premier lounges, the following 3 airport lounges are accessible at the international terminals at OR Tambo (Johannesburg) and King Shaka (Durban):

International lounge visits
Unlimited, free airport lounge access through the Visa Companion app, for comfortable travels.
- Free access to over 1 300 airport lounges for you and a guest. No additional card or registration is necessary.
- Additional guests are charged at US$32 each.
- Simply register your card on the Visa Airport Companion app to access these benefits.

- If you have more than 1 Visa card in your name, you can add them all onto the app.
- If your lounge visit does not meet your satisfaction, you can log your experience via the app for feedback.

Travel insurance
You and your family automatically qualify for medical emergency cover when you pay for your flights with your Private Wealth Visa Infinite Credit or Cheque Card or American Express® Card. To qualify, you must buy your tickets online or swipe your card at the airport or with a travel agent. Electronic transfers do not qualify for travel insurance.
What you get
Visa Infinite cards: US$2.5 million cover for South African residents under the age of 85.
American Express Cards: R3 million cover for qualifying individuals between the ages of 3 months and 74 years.

How to download your travel insurance policy or terms and conditions
- Go to https://cardholderbenefitsonline.com/.
- Log in using your 16-digit card number.
- Select Certificate of Insurance or Terms and Conditions.
The certificate contains your policy number. The rest of the form is a blank, fillable PDF form that must be downloaded and completed.
