Fraudsters often send fake messages about airline tickets; parcel deliveries; South African Revenue Services (SARS) payments or refunds; traffic fines; and overdue accounts via email, SMS or WhatsApp. These messages include links to fraudulent websites designed to steal your card details or your Nedbank ID username and password.

They may also ask you to share a one-time password (OTP) or accept an Approve-it request for a transaction they initiate, hoping you will not notice.

• Don't click on links. Always type the official website address directly into your browser.
• Never enter your card details or Nedbank ID username and password on a site you have accessed via a link.
• Always read your Approve-it messages carefully before you accept them.
