Fraud Awareness Campaign

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Don’t fall for the fraud call!

Last updated: 2025/08/21
Version 0.29

Fraudsters are posing as Nedbank’s fraud department claiming there’s a suspicious debit order or large transaction on your account. They then ask you to change your Nedbank ID username and password to one that they provide, or to share these details so they can reverse the transaction. They may even ask you to accept an Approve-it message or share an OTP with them.

Tips to keep safe:

  • Never share your Nedbank ID username and password with anyone.
  • Nedbank will never ask you to change your username or password to one we provide - always choose your own and never share it.
  • Carefully read Approve-it messages before you accept them and never share your OTP.
  • If the bank calls about a transaction, simply say ‘Yes, it’s mine’ or ‘No, it’s not mine’. Don’t share any secret information or approve anything.
  • Fraudster are registering their numbers as ‘Nedbank Investigations’, to make their calls seem legitimate - don’t trust caller identity.
